Issue:

The customer is experiencing a problem with email communication on their LinguistLink account. They are not receiving messages from requesters trying to check on the status of their requests or ask additional questions.

Cause:

The cause of the issue is related to the specific areas from which emails are generated. Direct messages, messages to everyone, and notes entered in the Project Item notes box generate emails, while other areas do not trigger email notifications.

Resolution:

To ensure proper email communication, the customer should make sure to use one of the following methods for sending messages:

  1. Direct Message: Sending messages directly to the recipient.
  2. Message Everyone: Broadcasting messages to all relevant parties.

Notes in Project Item: Adding notes in the Project Item notes box do NOT generate email notifications.

By following these methods, the customer can effectively send and receive messages within their LinguistLink account.
